A quick and highly needed trip back to Crabtree, PA, for the annual festival was planned and executed. We made the drive back late Friday night and pulled in around 1:30am as per the norm. Little did we know the when we were passing by “The Roadhouse” many of our friends were hitting the whiskey good.
Luckily when we pulled in to the farm, Alexis’s parents had dropped off the camper for us to sleep in. The r-pod would be home for the next couple days.
I woke in cousin Eddie style to the warm mugginess of summer. Josh and Denea were visiting from Minnesota as well and had claim the extra bedroom. When my dad and mom were done with making a great pile of bacon for breakfast, they showed off the pride of their summers work, the chicken coup. The artist’s construction of reclaimed pallet wood and nifty carpentering skills was very impressive and well thought out. They have every right to be proud of the construction.
Throughout the afternoon, I visited the other cousins on the farm and hungout in Matt basement drinking some beers. His house was really coming along great.
After some quad rides and farm activities things, everything was prepared for the nightly activities. Good old family fun was had and the fireworks were as great as ever. Dancing and rafter races closed out the night.
Next morning, everyone got up and got themselves down to Carbone’s for the Sunday booms. Everything was good as other years too. We sweated it out in the parking lot and enjoy the concussive blasts. The rest of the evening we swam at Aimee’s pool and wrestled with the kiddies. Monday we started our drive back with Mallo helping along the way.
Glad you liked the chicken coop
