PA Pumpkin Patch Picking

Pumpkins at home

Back in PA fall had started to creep up into to full swing. The pumpkins with were planted back in springs were ready for harvest. Sadly to say I lost the planting battle against Marty and Shawna. Also, none of the North Carolina pumpkins plants bore any fruit.

Lilly Grace Von Doombringer (with her long lasting injuries) took to the pumpkin harvest quickly, but she was more interest in corn than the pumpkins. My parents had already picked all the prize pumpkins from being eating by deer or rotting on the vine. Rooting around underneath the corn stalks and the leaves yielded a good dozen more of pumpkins.

Still needing to fill the Jeep to the brim, we raided Shawna and Marty’s patch. We knew we had reached capacity when the Jeep springs began to sag. Sadly, I waved the white flag and conceded victory to the Nalevanko’s. They have won every division, size, sheer weight, total volume, and prettiest.

Side note: also got to shoot several pumpkins and my Dad’s new crossbow.
