Logan 1st vacation road trip to New York. We took off from PA and the Crabtree Events to drink wine and take logan to the top of a ski jump.
Day 1 – Watkins glen
- Wineries
- We saw bunch of Dinosaurs in the middle of this one, logan was hatched from one of their eggs, while alexis was chased
- Pompous ass winery – delivered refreshment in nice ac while music played outside
- We walk to the near by almost dry waterfall next to the motel . “Chequaga Falls”
- Nice easy stay that “The Falls” Motel and consumed thia food with a jacuzzi tub
Day 2
- Logan’s 1st hiking adventure up Watkins Glen trail”. He end up getting pretty tired at the top and slept on the way back.
- Stop a the Cat winery. Hazlitt 1852 Winery
- Big storms roll through while we were there
- Nevko fell as sleep on picnic table
- Next stop another pretty view winery “Chateau La Fayette”
- Took Alexis new Mom-mobile Hyundai Santa Fe for drive around “the glen” racetrack
- Watched the Sunset at paddle board spot
- Got Ice cream and watched trucks with logan
Day 3 – Drive to Lake Placid
- Drive to lake placid
- stop for fuel and view Syracuse Costco
- Saw the Old forge – canoe trail start. This is where Tim and Nora took off from their canoe trip
- Winding road through the Upstate with many lakes of tiny towns
- Arrive at Lake Placid and stayed at the High Peaks Resort
- Cargo carried everything in the resort using the max size of the luggage carrier
- Dinner at steak and lobster at “Dack Shack”
Day 4 – Lake Placid Activities
- had Breakfast at the Breakfast Club Restraunt
- Took Logan to the top of the Ski jump
- Nevko did a Bobsledding lesson. Learn from the local about the bob sled lifestyle
- Took a tour of the Olympic visitor center
- Spent some time just hanging out on the pool next to the lake
- Convinced Alexis to Swim in lake
Day 5 – Drive back to PA
- Hotdog stop in the mountain pass of NY
- Brief stop Thatcher state park, we took a hike along the cliff side and noted that their is newer climbing area around
- To the southern interstate route back to Corning and PA
- Travel budget Inn night stay on the Border
Day 6 to Crabtree
- Stop are vistor center over looking the dam
- Drove back through State College
- Arrived back.
