Antigua – 2020

The western Caribbean Island was finally set in stone. It was no longer canceled from Airline restrictions or entry barriers. With the use of some airline miles, we were able to pick Antigua as our week’s vacation destination. Alexis had a small hiccup with her passport, but we were lucky enough to take care of 1 week before leaving.
With passports and Covid Tests in hand, we left the USA for sunny island weather of Antigua in English Harbor and Jolley Beach.

Day 1 – Saturday

  • Flight in – had to figure out all the name change and ticketing logistics
  • Alexis got ask a buy a bunch of white girls about chikafila
  • Long backed up line in customs at Antigua, checking covid tests
  • Taxi ride through the middle of th me island ( yard cookouts )
  • Dropped of at admiral inn, would be only guests , on that side of the island .
  • Boat ride to powder room and pool
  • Met finance people going to live on yatch for a while with a firm
  • Lady fighting about a boat Capitan
  • Drunken Yacht people singing karaoke across the harbor

Day 2 – Sunday

  • Woke up , coffee and tea on the veranda overlooking the harbor
  • Walked to Piquant kitchen for breakfast
  • Ate along side Falmouth harbor , watched fish
  • Walk and toured the town (only offered weed once)
  • Saw Caribbean harbor seals (fish)
  • Tour Nelson’s harbor museum.
  • Saw giant yachts and sailboats
  • Hike the middle ground , old fortifications manned by Goats
  • Super yatchs . Titania and valquest
  • Boat back to gunpowder inn
  • Pool times , nap and fall out of hammocks, beer and passion fruit smoothies
  • Alexis – pool speak, Trying to stand still is hard
  • Met British people, couple , 3 dudes , etc
  • Dinner at restaurant and night lounging around the cabana’s

Day 3 – Monday

  • Alexis saw cats around the area
  • Breakfast at inn.
  • Swam and lounges until 12
  • Lisa’s taxi ride to coco hotel (changing locations)
  • Saw “ cows, zip line, “old road -fancy resort”
  • Arrived at coco
  • Drinks and shown room over looking the sunset 🌅
  • Walk down to coco beach
  • Burger snacks, and drinks
  • Met Connecticut couple
  • Dinner , coconut fish and jerked chicken pasta
  • Very pretty sunset

Day 4 – Tuesday

  • Slow start morning
  • Breakfast – French toast and pancakes. Cat patrols
  • Coco beach, necklace shopping , lobster beach lunch , lounge and swimming
  • Rains came in
  • Walked the length of jolley beach
  • Zombie hotels and pools
  • Lounge and drinks hiding from rain.
  • North beach
  • Dinner wine and snapper
  • Saxophone man playing tunes

Day 5 – Wednesday

  • slept in,
  • English breakfast
  • Lunch , mussels and butter fish , cheese cake dessert
  • Walked beach down to other coco resort.
  • Built sandcastle and hamstring rehab stretches
  • Watch sunset from beach
  • Steel drum band, played name that tune

Day 6 – Thursday

  • early morning breakfast
  • Walk to crows nest bar at Jolley harbor for eco tour
  • Saw mongooses picked up by Reef , chenille
  • Tour left and picked up people at and Saint John
  • Windy and bunny on the way out. Salt water pelted sunburn not that great feeling
  • Saw jumby bay, rich people island, sandals, and other expensive places
  • Mangrove trees
  • Tour of hells gate, and hiked through the cave system and over the bridge
  • Saw hawksbill sea Turtles and had Picnic lunch
  • Snorkeled are a reef , saw good bit of regular fish, longsnout skinny fish
  • Rum punch and banana bread on island on way back
  • Tested for covid had 3 rum and Coke’s while waiting
  • Negative results
  • Dressed up for dinner and then dancing night with Caribbean band
  • Anisha dance party

Day 7 – Friday

  • Easy day of nothing
  • Easy breakfast
  • Jerked chicken on beach
  • Thigh tans while reading
  • Swimming to cool off
  • Grilled cheese lunch and passion fruit pie
  • Backed to beach for more sun and laying around
  • Sunset with a clear sky
  • Dinner

Day 8 – Saturday

  • Breakfast of fruits and juices
  • Car pool to airport with Ron and Hillary .
  • Airport stuff
  • Flew over Barbuda, Saint Barts, Virgin island and gap we cruised thru.
