Halloween
For Halloween, Alexis came to Colorado and did some fun fall activities. It all began with a Halloween night up in the city of Denver.
We stay at the Marriott in downtown Denver, and used this as our base of operations for the Halloween Night. I got tickets for a Halloween themed bar crawl through downtown. However, it seemed like we were the only ones dress up. Walking to the first bar to register, we didn’t see any one else wearing a custom. Oh and at this point we were dressed up as Bob Ross(me) and a Happy Little Tree (Alexis). We made our way from bar to bar, eventually finding a couple others dressed up. We spent time at the PSU bar, and then randomly met and made friends with a group of CROC shoe engineers.
In the morning, we tried to go to SAMs #3 but the line was crazy. Next we tried snooze, but the same thing happened. While driving, we were blocked by a scene kid on a fixie bike. It was Colin, he had spotted the blazer on his way to watch the eagles game. After talking to Colin and bidding separate ways, we ate at Hi Rise, and barely beat the food rush there.
We rushed back to Colorado Springs, and got Alexis ticket up the Cog railway, since she had never been. It was her first experience above 14,000ft. She seemed to be very very cold (it wasn’t that bad though).
Afterward we finally got to eat at a pirate themed restaurant “Castaways!”. I got the Admirals feast, and ate several differently species of seafood. Then we ended the night by carving a pumpkin for my work contest. This involved drilling lots and lots of holes into it with a power drill.
Then next day after working a bit, we played ball all through red rock canyon open space. And went and saw “Perks of Being a Wallflower” (weird movie). The movie theater was empty.
Finally on the last day, we toured around the Broadmoor acting like high society types. Alexis ended up making out with a tree. Afterwards we went to city rock, and made Alexis exercise. We also got our picture on the webcam there. (Oh and finally before she left we got free pie at the Village inn).
