Finally, I was able to dedicate myself to getting out to WV and the New River Gorge for several consecutive weekends in a row. The ending results were a lot of fun with friends and “climbing associates”, sending of many new routes, and even putting up a couple hard ones for myself.

New River Gorge was visited again but this time it would be a a focus on the sampling of the Fern Buttress and the Endless Wall. I drove up solo, having phone conversation with long lost friends who I begged to entertain me on my drive. I got to the a very pack and crowded ACC campground. It kind of a sad place to be now, after staying there back in the beginning when it was the wildwest. With a forgotten tent, I pulled the blazer into a open slot and sleep through the night. New River: Central Endless Wall
Next Morning, we woke up to warmer temperatures and a thawing roadway. Coffee was made and eggs were scrambled, both were vital in starting the engines which would keep us chugging along through the day. Little did I know that this cup of coffee in my cocker-spaniel mug would be it last….
