Wolf Creek: October Opening Snowday 2011

Friday night, Eli texted me and let me know that Wolf Creek got an amazing 3 feet of pow and that they would be the first ski area to open (needless to say extremely impressive for OCT 8th!). The only catch was a 4 hr drive to the pass.

Now the first Saturday back from my vacation at home,  Eli and I met Ben in Frisco for some multipitch granite climbing.  Our goal was to climb Mt Royal, which sits right above the bustling town of Frisco.  We would be climbing the royal flush, which was awesomely put up by a word class climbers but for normal people.

In the Middle of August, the banks of the Colorado River ran heavy with the presence of a hippy commune.  Lured by the aspect of music performance, camping, and tubing down the Colorado River while listening to a floating band – a group of 5 adventurers wandered deep into the lifestyle of the gypsy hippy.
