Looking at our schedules we would not be able to make it to the real beach in sometime. So 1 weekend in June would be our only option for getting my toes in some sand.
Travels and Vagabonds
It was time for a beach weekend trip to Georgetown South Carolina. We had never visited this area of South Carolina, and had not heard too much of the area. There were no highways to connect Charlotte to the town of Georgetown, so we got to an interesting tour of this part of the country.

City exploration time! We headed south to check out the great and old city of Savanah. We took a slightly roundabout way in to the city, but it allowed us to visit a national wild life refuge. Continue reading “Savannah GA”

After all the wedding festivities, were complete Alexis and I ran away to the south and down the 1 to experience SoCal. Our first stop was Santa Monica after driving thru Malibu and seeing multiple Bentleys, a dozen Lambos, Multiple Rarri’s, and too many Porsches. In Santa Monica, we checked out the pier and the shops.
Anacapa Island
Now back in Santa Barbara a couple days before the wedding, Steve and I had some tasks to perform while everyone else was getting stuff ready. The main goal was to return the Sprinter Van to Bandago, back down in Hollywood. In the morning, after a couple hours sleep on Jimmy and Lindsey’s floor, we pulled ourselves together enough to make some coffee.
Folly Beach
Now that the beach is within reasonable driving distance, it was time to dip into the Atlantic Ocean again. First time in six years for me. Charleston, SC is the closest beach from Charlotte so this would the destination.

I ended up working California again for a week at the end of January, it was whirlwind non-stop trip of corporate interworkings. I flew out on Sunday night and got myself a veritable clown car (Kia Rio) and made my way to the my hotel for the next week.
San Francisco and the Coastals
Directly in-between two work trips, I had a weekend off to go explore the west coast. There were two stipulations though that had to fulfill before I was allow to go explore. First, no earthquakes where allowed to take place while I was there (request from mom). Second, I had to pick up a straggler at the airport whom would then follow me around for the weekend.
