Alexis and I went for a nice long day hike in the gamelands on the western side of the NC Piedmont.
Alexis had this good idea to go hiking in the Green River highlands. We had not been to the area since tubing the river long ago. She had found a trail loop that looked like would give a good views of the area. We parked at a trailhead never the green river and did a big loop up and over the top of the knob. It was sunny and snowy and slippery at times. Drastic changes in the temperature occur as we came into and out of depressions in the land.
We wound back down to the river and saw the bottom part of the narrows. This part of the stream is very rugged and looks like there are some really good swimming holes. It was a really pretty area to hike and explore further up stream.
