Looking at our schedules we would not be able to make it to the real beach in sometime. So 1 weekend in June would be our only option for getting my toes in some sand.
We took off Saturday Morning and may our way straight to the beach at Sullivan’s Island with a brief stop at publix for some sandwiches. We parked a couple blocks in and we on the beach right away. There was a massive sandbar that created a fun pool and crashing waves. Far out there also was stuck old tree in the middle of the sandbar.
After beaching we head back into Charleston to check in to the priceline’d hotel,”The Mills House Wyndham Grand Hotel”. We change and wondering our the hotel avoiding wedding parties. Later in the evening we wander around town looking for dinner and stopped at the Cane Rhum Bar” which had some great mixed drinks. I needed a fix for my sweet tooth so we snuck by a gelatto shop near the pier and watch the bay.’
Next morning we awoke, grabbed some quick bagels and headed to visit Fort Sumter. Boat ride toured the bay and eventually docked on the island of Sumter. We then participated in the US flag raising on the Island. After we extensively toured the hot island. We headed back.
All hot and hungry we went back to the back to the beach to relax the rest of the day before driving back to Charlotte.
