The Bastille
Inpromtu climbing trip up to Eldo, followed the climbing competition at City Rock. After throwing myself on hard sport routes in the gym it was great to do a classic trad route.
Ben and I drove into Eldo with a semi-late start, but it didnt matter much. The bastille crack face the north. So it always stay cold. We ended up decide to do the climb anyways in cold conditions and bundled up in shells and fleece.
The climb was really classic and I combined the first 2 pitches which was an awesome and continuous. We booted a offset stopper on the 4th pitch somewhere. And ben end up napping while give me a belay on the final pitch. We did a slight variation on the chimney and fired up awesome solid huecos.
Overall the setting of the climb cannot be beat. I hope to get back one day and climb outerspace.
