Eldo West Wall and Shelf Sand Gluch

Climbing Weekend

A whirlwind tour of climbing took place in October. The troops were rounded up and we started off in the traddie area of Eldorado Canynon.  We would then journey down south to sport some climbing in shelf.

It was a great day for climbing in Eldo.  The sun was shining and we made our way up to the West Wall.  Ben, Pascal, Landy and Meg were in the group.   We worked our way up the wall climbing several different routes.  Meg and Pascal teamed up and did handcracker direct, a multi-pitch route. Ben, Landy and I continued to work up the cliff line.  Ben ended up leading a gnary route called bushwacker.  Landy got his first vertical trad lead called Duh Dihedral, and I got on White Lightning.

The next day we went to sand gulch at Shelf.  Landy, Hanna, Mirthe,Pascal and Falon were here.  I climbed some nice moderates and everyone got on some gnarly 12s (phase dance and freeform).  I tried a short 12, it ended up being terrible and I thrashed my hands pretty good.   Enough to make my stop wanting to climb for a couple weeks.  All and all, I got some good photos.
