North Table Mountain
On December 11th on a snowy tundra laden day, I went up to North Table Mountain outside of Golden, Co. The small rocks cliffs of basalt get nice winter sun and produced some nice warming temperatures on the rock.
Ben and I focused on all the trad climbs for an area that normally gets mostly sport climber traffic. We stayed in the easy/moderate range 5.6-5.8, focusing on hand-jams, placing pro, and moving fast.
Breakdown:
Killian’s Dead 5.6 – Ben
John Adams’ Adams Apple 5.8 – Me (slight past vertical hand crack)
Kevin Spies the Line 5.6 – Ben (a sport route that Ben turned trad)
Kevin’s Trad Line 5.7 – Me (“old school” as dubbed by some ol’ hardmen beside us)
Redrum 5.7 – Ben (heinous chimney for me. I just didn’t fit.)
Liar Liar 5.8 – Me (finger crack)
Line It Up 5.7 – Ben (funky)
All onsights.
