The Farm
During the standard-mandatory-enforced-timeoff of work-time, I headed home for some good old family fun. Playing at home is always a fun time and includes lots of mischief and Robber-Barron activities. Here’s a list of some of the things I was able to document during this time:
- Obligatory Sophie photograph session
- Muzzle-loader firing-line
- Tipsy cousins Ccnversations
- Rabbit hunting
- Machinery & livestock
- Sled riding, bungeeing, snowboarding
- Chainsawing
As soon as I arrive home at the farm and my mom knows I brought the “good” camera, I am required to take at least 736 pictures of the dog. (Its OK, cause she’s almost as photogenic as me).
Christmas was also around the same time as muzzle-loader season, so Dave Fallow and Cousin Matt came, along with misfit Emilee, to shoot some good ol’ revolutionary firearms. Fueled by Colorado libations, the night ended well in a old style firing line. (Pretty much burning Matt’s face off).
Nights also consisted of hanging out with the passel of cousins. No topic is to taboo for our inner sanctum of conversation. But normally the night dives into a constant verbal assault on each other, bringing up terrible memories of times passed, or just some good ribbing. Also, sometimes we even bring in guests as a honorary family member for the night. One special night we were treated to the gift of Terese. (Here’s your blog shout out.). We strived to make her feel as comfortable as possible.
Hunting is a regular part of the trip back. Sometimes you manage to bag a pheasant and rabbit, spend the rest of the night skinning them and then use all their parts to make a nice coat. There also is a bunch of walking around, so here are some pictures of the farm during this winter season.
Other cousinly activities continued with eating all of the Nalevanko’s food, sled riding, dangerous stunts, and awkward cooking and dancing. And no trip would be complete without a good lumberjack session.
Excuse me!!!!! I want to see me shooting my first muzzle-loader!!! Unky is going to be sooo mad you did not include that!!!!
Hahahahahahaha also love the Terese shoutout!!

Sophie never looked better! The picture of your dad in his hat is one of my favorites.
