NASCAR Race – Charlotte

Sums it up

Well I guess now that I am in North Carolina for the foreseeable future, I need to go to NASCAR race and thankfully I have the opportunity to go with a couple seasoned vets.

Emilee and Jay came down to spend the weekend with us and go the the Bank of America 500 NASCAR race. Before the race, we all convened at Jay’s Uncle house and met up with his dad as well. From there we performed the pilgrimage to the stadium. Pulling into a packed NASCAR car stadium is quite a experience. There are cars, trucks, and trailers are far as the eye can see. We ended up getting a great parking spot with the blazer in Winnabaygo row. We fired up a couple cigars (courtesy of Tom), cracked a few beer, and wandered around street vendors and the outside NASCAR demo areas. I got a sweet NASCAR shirts ( my first one) to support Jimmy Johnson.

Wandering around the lots, we got some free food samples from all the type of food NASCAR fans would enjoy. I also got to sit in a couple awesome new Holland tractors. The race was fun during the beginning, we got to see some high-wire acts and Jay’s Dad scalped some awesome tickets high up on the finish line. Also, 1 thing that I didn’t realize until getting there was that you can bring in as much beer as you can carry in to the stadium. We took in about 48 beers.

The race itself was kind of a bust, with no wrecks or exciting passes, but all and all it was neat experience.
